TEHRAN The Supreme Audit Court (SAC) has launched a move to implement Article 130 of the Constitution.
According to the said article state employees are not entitled to be members of the managerial boards of the private factories and production units or those of nongovernmental organizations.
The implementation of the article will lead to investigations into the embezzlement of state officials who have abused their status for personal gain, a source said.
The case of a deputy head of the Management and Plan Organization who was also member of the managerial board of a company has already been sent to the court by SAC, he said.
The move is to fight corruption and abuse of power. The government employees who are members of managerial boards of the private companies may give classified information to their own companies for personal gain and hamper a healthy competition, he said.
In many cases they also concluded agreements with the companies in which they were members of managerial board, causing corruption and embezzlement.
The SAC has already prepared a list of the members of managerial boards of private companies and is studying them. A number of individuals have been identified who hold two positions which is not legal according to the law.
